of New Mexico EXECUTIVE OFFICE Sante Fe, New Mexico
Proclamation
WHEREAS,
The Derek Argel Memorial Ride from Lompoc, California to Milwaukee,
Wisconsin is honoring the memory of U.S. Air Force Captain Derek Argel;
and
WHEREAS,
the proceeds raised through the Derek Argel Memorial Ride will benefit
the Special Operations Warrior Foundation; and
WHEREAS,
the funds raised will be used by the Special Operations Warrior
Foundation to provide college educations for each child who has lost a
parent while serving the Special Operations Command; and
WHEREAS,
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation has been adjudged a
“Four Star” charity by the Charity Navigator for
efficiency in distributing funds;
NOW,
THEREFORE I, Bill Richardson, Governor of the State of New Mexico, do
hereby proclaim August 20-21, 2008 as:
“Captain
Derek Argel Days”
throughout
the State of New Mexico
